About OEF

Oluwafemi Ebenezer Foundation (OEF) is a Nigerian humanitarian and community-impact nonprofit. We provide practical relief, support dignity and help underserved people and communities move towards greater safety, health, learning, opportunity and social connection. Feed Someone is our founding movement and flagship outreach initiative.

About the opportunity

The Communications Specialist connects OEF's mission with the wider world, working across our writing, social media and design contributors to ensure coherent, dignity-first messaging. The role streamlines our end-to-end communication and storytelling pipeline, identifies audience and donor growth opportunities, and oversees digital marketing, CRM engagement and multi-channel campaigns.

Who we are looking for

A strategic, versatile and self-directed communicator with proven remote-working experience who can align diverse creative contributors and convey social-impact narratives with depth and clarity. Experience working within an agile team environment is required. Applicants should be adaptable, highly resourceful, eager to learn, and skilled at mentoring and imparting values to peers. Excellent written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in Hausa is a strong advantage for community outreach and beneficiary communication. Readiness to travel for occasional in-person community outreaches in the near future is required.

Nice to have: Practical familiarity with digital marketing tools, content management systems (CMS), CRM platforms (HubSpot), email marketing tools (Brevo), Google Ads, Google Analytics, collaboration suites (ClickUp, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace), and AI-enabled editorial or marketing tools.

Core responsibilities

  • Coordinate and streamline the communication and storytelling pipeline across the content writing, social media and design teams.
  • Ensure consistent, responsible and dignity-focused messaging about OEF to the public, donors, partners and beneficiaries.
  • Oversee digital marketing, audience acquisition and campaign initiatives, leveraging content management systems (CMS) and email platforms like Brevo.
  • Support stakeholder and donor relationship management using CRM systems such as HubSpot.
  • Monitor digital campaign performance and paid or organic marketing channels (including Google Ads where applicable) to identify growth opportunities.
  • Help capture, review and package ground-level humanitarian stories and updates from community outreaches.

Expectations

  • A commitment of 10 hours per week for at least three months, arranged flexibly around agreed campaign and communications timelines.
  • Strong strategic communication, editorial oversight and digital marketing awareness.
  • Experience working collaboratively in an agile team rhythm (such as editorial sprints, content reviews and board coordination).
  • Consistent delivery against agreed campaign schedules and publication targets.
  • Good judgement when communicating humanitarian themes, protecting beneficiary dignity and representing OEF.
  • Proactive initiative to identify growth opportunities, streamline handoffs and progress assignments independently.

Benefits and experience

  • Practical experience leading multi-channel communications, digital marketing and ethical storytelling for a growing nonprofit.
  • Access to modern CRM, digital marketing, collaboration and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Learning resources, practical training and relevant certification opportunities.
  • Professional recognition through verified LinkedIn experience and performance-based references or recommendations.
  • Potential consideration for future paid opportunities based on performance and organisational needs.
